NOTE: this kit has neatly assembly as follows: the grill details (light lenses and grill bar recesses only) have been painted; quality of the work is 'excellent+'; the engine is very neatly built and painted; the chassis is very neatly airbrushed black and details painted to 'near mint' quality, wheels built and on the chassis. The Japanese copy of the Me-163 Komet was a last ditch attempt to stop the B-29 raids. Gliding tests went well, but on it's first powered flight, the motor quit and the aircraft crashed. The end of the war stopped further development. This fantastic late 1930's Dutch Fighter was a good as anything the Luftwaffe had at that time, but it had not entered mass production when the invasion hit. The few that were available performed well. Some saw service as captured aircraft with the Luftwaffe. Very nicely molded with fine recessed panel lines, numerous brass photoetched parts, film instruments, injection molded canopy and a nicely detailed cockpit. 1958 first issue with fantastic Jo Kotula boxart. This is the Parents' Magazine issue with the seal located in the lower right and the '69' price circle at the upper left. This was considered a fine model in the day and rated highly in magazine reviews. These classic 1930s Navy Biplane Fighters are still famous for their colorful paint jobs at that that time. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Cowl, tail and trim color would vary with the group's Aircraft Carrier (Ranger, Lexington or Saratoga and the aircraft's position in the flight formation.

1985 Revell of Germany reissue from the original 1974 USA molds. Can be built waterline or full hull with complete propeller and rudder detail. Features detailed deck and superstructure, rotating main 8" turrets, six dual AA gun mounts, three rangefinders, cranes, gun directors, searchlights, AR-196 floatplane and more. The Blucher had the dubious distinction of being the only capital ship sunk in WWII by coastal torpedo batteries. She was also the only German capital ship to be sunk during the Norway invasion of April 1940, repeating the history of the previous Armored Cruiser Blucher which was the only capital ship lost at the Battle of Dogger Bank in WWI. The WWII Blucher was surprised by Norwegian coastal torpedo batteries and guns from the fortress of Oscarsborg while sailing up the fjord towards Oslo.
